The Taste Of Home, it sounds so trivial when we think about it. But what in fact is home? The taste of home?
If you have ever interacted with us at African Basket, you will know that the taste of home is why we do everything we do. It literally flows from the bottom of the soles of our feet through the sounds our mouths make when we talk to you. The Taste of Home. It’s a feeling, a sound, a way of doing things that others from home understand.
Everyday, people cross borders for different reasons, better economic opportunities, love, family, crisis- the reasons are endless. The one thing that we know in spite of WHY people travel and that wherever we find ourselves, is that we are constantly looking for something that reminds us of home. It may come in the form of a sound, a colour, an item of clothing, a smell, a picture, all of this is what we at African Basket call The Taste of Home. It is within us, waiting to be ignited by any small thing. It is The Taste of Home.
We invite you to come on a journey with us, to rediscover home, in whatever manner you imagine it. To remember home and to plan to be home, to send money home, to make it home, but most of all to feel at home.
